A little playing time here at kimmykats

I have been playing with some different ideas here at kimmykats.  Sometimes it seems that your creativity has flown the coop.....so I read, I play with Pinterest, look at what everyone is up to. While reading I came across this post by Rebekah Payne of Tree Wing Studio on the Art Jewelry Elements blog http://artjewelryelements.blogspot.com/2013/09/how-to-two-more-pressed-flower-bead.html
I had read one of her previous posts on making molds.  I gathered all my supplies and started to play.  I had a great time gathering stuff to mold!  I started this necklace....not sure how I will finish it...still in the playing mode.....
I like my color combinations....just didn't like all the chain.  I am in the thinking mode......

I also played with some of my buttons....a tute purchased from The Blue Bottle Tree

Still a work in progress......

Next I started on ......
focal by Kimberly Rogers of Numinosity Beads   this is one of her nail beads

I pulled out the steel wire for this one.  I thought the rustic look would go right along with the rusty nail.  I have my beadwork done....now thinking of leather to finish.

Now for something I did completely finish.....
birds and silverware....

Hand molded and stamped ...no 2 will ever be the same.....
These went to the store ...testers to see how they sell.

A woman I love.....Petra Carpreau of  Scorched Earth
opening her package is just like Christmas...
I have lots more of her beads to play with!

Meanwhile lots of spoons and bracelets have flown to new homes.....and I am still playing!

Have a great weekend!

  1. Lovely work. If you are just playing....I wonder what you do when you are serious? Really like the rustic feel to these pieces. You are inspiring! I too like Petra's Scorched Earth beads. Have some on my table right now. My creativity is hit and miss these days as well. Too many distractions I guess.

  2. Beautiful pieces Kim, I am with Katherine if this is just playing, then I will be knocked out of my socks if you were serious. It was nice to visit you again on the blog I have missed so many these past few months. Hey I went to Huntsville a week or so ago and I went to Mary's Bead Shop and all I can say is WOW!
