Trying to capture my little friends here today.....as usual they are busy defending their territory!  I played with the HDR-ish and filtered black/white.   In doing so you can now see the wing movements....

There are many more to see at The Studio Sublime so go take a look!

  1. Hummingbirds are so amazing to watch! I was watering the flowers on my front porch which are next to my hummingbird feeder, and one showed up! He's buzzing around then comes straight to me (I was wearing a red shirt) then took off to my flag and was checking out the red stripes on it! I had to take down all my husbands red lanterns because they were driving the hummingbirds crazy!
Your photo capturing their wing movement is really neat!

  2. Oh how cool are these?! Love that first one especially. You captured such an awesome shot! I watch our hummingbirds 'play' each morning in the fountain in our rose garden - they are such fabulous little birdies, aren't they?!

  3. Fantastic photos!! I love black and white as it takes me back to my youth. My father-in-law has several hummingbird feeders and I love watching them from the window.

  11. Hummingbirds are just so cool. They are hard to capture though. You did a fabulous job both capturing this guy and adding interest with your editing additions. :)

  12. Great catch, Kim! wow! I am amazed by hummingbirds, but we don't see much of them here. Perhaps too far north? I'm not sure...
