Keepin Time Junk-Le-Bells

There has been a lot of crafting with watches in blogland and Jill really inspired me with her watch locket. It was time for Junk-Le-Bells........

I took apart a man's watch and cut scrapbooking paper to fit the inside.

Next I drew a picture of a snowman on light weight cardboard.

Paint the doesn't have to be perfect! I made a small patch of orange and then cut the nose out. When he is dry cut him out. He's tiny so watch out!! I lost one on the floor and he was nowhere to be cleaning skills hmmm...

Cut a couple of spacers out of the thin cardboard to raise him off the background and then glue your snowman on top of them.

I covered the glass so that I could spritz some snow on him.

Give him some stick arms and glue white beads for snowballs. Add some ultra fine glitter and crystal snow flakes.

Wire hanger and a button to finish him off!

Thanks to Jill for giving me the idea!

SMILE..Crafty Kids

We were artists this weekend. This is the Peanut's version of a DQ smile. Start with black construction paper. Make your outline from white glue and let dry(it takes a while to dry so plan ahead). Color with chalk, rub with your fingers and seal with hairspray(I actually used krylon matte finish). My pictures don't really do the colors justice--they are so pretty in person.

A fun project to do! We had people from 8 yrs old to 70 playing with these!

Hang the Family

This is a project that I did for last years craft season. Of course I had to go junking for least that was the excuse I told the boss...seems I had been collecting hangers for awhile when I visited the store in my basement.
Wow this one came a long way!

Decorative chain of your choice..that I really did need to go find!

Eye screws placed on both sides of the hanger and picture frame. I measured out from the center of the picture frame where I wanted to place with it see what looks best for your frame. Then use the same measurement on the hanger.

I made the "picture" from different fonts to make them show nice. If you are making this for yourself put your favorite picture in.

To finish I painted different sayings. If you don't like to paint you could use a marker.

A different way to "hang your family"
